Looking for a quick side dish to serve with your Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day meal? This blue cheese coleslaw recipe only takes 10 minutes to make so you can get it on the table in no time! Plus, its festive name makes it perfect for the occasion. Made with blue cheese salad dressing and buttermilk, its cheesy, creamy flavor pairs perfectly with savory grilled dishes like burgers, steaks, ribs and anything tossed in buffalo or BBQ sauce.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced cabbages and scallions. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, add blue cheese dressing and stir in buttermilk, 1 Tbsp. at a time, until desired pourable consistency is reached. If not serving right away, the dressing and cabbage mix can be stored in the refrigerator separately until ready to serve.
- Add dressing mixture to cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Sprinkle with celery seed, salt and pepper and toss again.
- If desired, add blue cheese crumbles and stir gently to combine. Serve as a complement to grilled burgers, steaks or buffalo chicken.
