Nothing says “special dinner” quite like a perfectly cooked steak! This clever sheet pan technique takes all the guesswork out of the equation (and keeps dishes at a minimum!). Simply roast the potatoes, then broil New York strip steaks for a few minutes along with some asparagus. Everything is served together with an herb-flecked compound butter for a delicious meal!
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and adjust the oven rack to the top position. Mix the potatoes and 1 tablespoon of the oil together in a large bowl until coated. Season with salt and pepper. Arrange in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until tender. Transfer to a plate and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
- Meanwhile, combine the butter and Italian seasoning in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the oven to broil. Brush the steaks with the remaining oil and arrange on the rimmed baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. Broil until golden-brown, about 5 minutes. Turn the steaks over and arrange asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet. Return it to the oven and broil until they reach the desired internal temperature, about 4 to 6 minutes.
- Slice the steaks and serve with seasoned butter, roasted potatoes and asparagus.
Recipe Tip: Substitute pork chops or salmon filets for the steak.
