Nothing says March Madness like these basketball sugar cookies that are quick and easy to make. Slam-Dunk Cookies are a fun and delicious dessert for everyone!

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix butter and sugar. Add vanilla.
  3. Gradually add flour.
  4. Roll dough flat (about 1/8” thick) and use cookie cutters.
  5. Bake for 11-15 minutes. Cool on cooling rack.
  6. While the cookies bake, place the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl.
  7. Microwave the chocolate chips on medium for 1 minute, then give it a stir.
  8. Keep heating the chocolate chips for 15-second intervals, stirring in between until almost melted.
  9. Remove the chocolate chips from the microwave and keep stirring until it’s smooth.
  10. Place the melted chocolate and orange royal icing in to separate piping bags.
  11. Squeeze the orange royal icing around the edge of the cookies, let sit for 2 minutes.
  12. Fill the inside of the cookies with the orange royal icing, then smooth and even out icing.
  13. Let the icing dry completely.
  14. Using the melted chocolate, squeeze the black lines to the basketball.
  15. Let icing dry completely and serve with milk.
