Kick off Halloween celebrations right with a spooky breakfast of Smithfield ® sausage, egg, cheese and veggies all wrapped up in a mummy braid.
Ingredients
Directions
-
Lightly grease a large baking sheet (10 x 15-inch) and lay out the pizza dough, pressing it to the edges.
-
Heat up the oil in a large skillet, and then add in the sausages, the peppers, and the onions. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 9 to 10 minutes.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the veggies and sausages. Cook for approximately 2 minutes (until the egg is solidified). Remove from the heat.
-
Spread out the grated Gouda or Monterey Jack cheese down the center of the pizza dough (make the strip of cheese about 4 to 5 inches wide).
-
Layer the sausage/egg mixture over the cheese.
-
Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top.
-
Cut 1-inch-wide diagonal strips along each side of the pizza dough (as shown in the photo).
-
Fold over the strips of dough, alternating as shown.
-
Cut two "eyes" out of the hard-boiled egg whites and place them on the "mummy's" face.
-
Add a couple of sliced olives to the eyes and use the egg wash over the entire mummy to help with browning as it bakes.
- Bake in a 425-degree oven for approximately 20 minutes or until it's pretty and brown.
-
Decorate with extra spiders and creepy things!
