Bread, eggs, milk, cinnamon and so on – the not-so secret, but oh-so-loved recipe for delicious French toast. Enjoy a spin on this classic breakfast meal with the sweet, tangy flavor of strawberries and creaminess of cream cheese, baked in a casserole dish for easy preparing and cooking. Serve with fresh fruit and bacon or breakfast sausage (and Mom’s favorite morning beverage on Mother’s Day).
- Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Arrange half of the cubed bread into an even layer. Evenly distribute the cream cheese on top and sprinkle with half of the quartered strawberries. Top with the remaining bread cubes.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, honey, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Pour over the bread, cover pan with foil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and bake for 30-35 minutes or until center is set and top is golden brown.
- Sprinkle with the remaining strawberries and powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
