This fresh, summery take on an Italian classic is sure to delight. With rich cream cheese, sweet strawberries and tangy balsamic, this appetizer will fly off the table.
- First, make a balsamic reduction out of the vinegar. Bring the balsamic vinegar to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce to a simmer for ten minutes. Reduction is ready when it coats the back of a spoon. Allow it to cool before using.
- In the meantime, toast the baguette slices until golden brown. When cool, spread cream cheese on each slice and top with sliced strawberries and basil. Drizzle with balsamic reduction and serve cool or at room temperature.
