Homemade balsamic marinade adds a special touch to this salad. But if time is limited, substitute 1/3 cup bottled balsamic dressing or Italian dressing. Also, feel free to use any combination of your favorite canned beans in this hearty salad. Plan ahead to allow at least a few hours before serving. The beans will absorb the marinade and the delectable flavors will blend.
- Whisk the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Add the salad ingredients and stir until evenly combined. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
