After a day of playing in the summer sun, give your kids an easy and affordable treat they’ll love! This shaved ice recipe is made with three main ingredients – watermelon, sugar and lime. And together, they make a sweet, tangy and refreshing snack. Although, you could also eat this Watermelon Lime Shaved Ice after dinner for dessert! Another great thing about this recipe is that it’s so easy to make; easy enough to even get the kids to help make it. So, plan for some quality time to whip this up and enjoy it together once it’s ready!

- In a blender, blend watermelon, sugar, lime juice and lime zest until smooth.
- Pour into a shallow baking dish and let freeze for 3 hours, scraping the surface with the tines of a fork every 30 minutes to create shaved ice crystals.

Serve in chilled cups or bowls, garnished with lime wedges.
*Tip: Lime zest (the very outer green part of the lime) is packed with flavor. But avoid the white pith underneath which can be bitter.
