Macaroni and cheese and cheeseburgers are two decadent foods that are oh-so-comforting. Bring them together with this quick and easy Cheeseburger Mac recipe. And besides being delicious, there is another thing that makes this dish stand out – it’s vegetarian! That’s right, the burger meat is plant-based. So, if you’re wanting to serve up a vegetarian entrée for your loved ones who may not be familiar with plant-based proteins, this is a great choice. After all, who doesn’t love a cheesy pasta dish?


Select ingredients:


  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the plant-based burger patties, salt, pepper and garlic powder and sauté until brown, about 10 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break up the patties into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Drain any excess grease from the pot and add the broth and tomatoes. Bring to a simmer and add the macaroni. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the macaroni is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  3. Turn the heat to low and add the milk and cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted. Garnish with the parsley and serve immediately.

Recipe Tip: To make this in a slow cooker, brown the patties and add to a slow cooker with the remaining ingredients. Cook on low for 3 hours.
